Pamela Garside

In addition to her work as Advisor to Visante Limited and serving on its Board of Directors, Ms. Garside is a Fellow in Health Management at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, where she serves as a coach of the Health Strategies concentration.  She has particularly enjoyed mentoring young graduate clinicians and managers as they navigate their careers.  She serves as Senior Associate for the Nuffield Trust, an authoritative and independent source of evidence-based research and policy analysis for improving health care in the UK.

Pam is founder and co-Chair of the Cambridge Health Network that brings together senior health leaders from public, private and voluntary sectors for a series of lectures and other events each year.  Membership in this group was over 1500 in 2013 The Network promotes collaboration between the public, private and academic sectors by connecting over 1,000 of the most prominent healthcare leaders through debate, challenge and exclusive events.

Pam’s interests encompass creating opportunities to assist international development for women across all employment sectors globally.  She previously served as president and board member of the International Women’s Forum Leadership Foundation.  She served as Chair of the Board of Governors, Royal College of Nursing Institute, which is the educational and academic arm of the RCN.  In the 1990s, she was given a ministerial appointment to serve as External Member of the Acute Hospitals Reorganisation Board in Belfast.  Currently, Pam is a board member of Whizz-Kidz, a charity providing disabled children and young people with vital mobility equipment and life opportunities, C3 a charity fighting the causes of chronic disease globally, and several other advisory boards in the health sector.

Pamela Garside received a Bachelor of Science in Zoology Honours (Iii) from Durham University, England and a Masters in Hospital Administration from the University of Minnesota in the US.  She has a keen interest in theatre, opera and film and loves to travel with her family.  Together, they enjoy skiing and scuba diving.
